My guitar has a maple neck, can I use lemon oil or Hydrate on my guitar?

Lemon oil and Hydrate are intended for dark unfinished woods like rosewood and ebony. They should not be used on light colored fingerboards like maple because they will darken and change the appearance of the wood.
